Q. Can I access any of the MIUS tools and software from my home computer?

A. No. Remote access to tools and software including ArcGIS software suite, Census CD, and ERDAS-Imagine is not available.  MIUS has 5 workstations equipped with all the software you may need and they are open for use any time during MIUS’s open hours. Please note each computer has a two hour timeout.

 
Q. Are there any map data I can access from home?

A. Yes. In addition to the software available at the MIUS workstations and our print collection, access to additional data on a variety of topics is available through our website. Please click here for additional resources accessible on the web.

 
Q. Is there any training available?

A. Formal training sessions and workshops are available for faculty and students throughout the year. For more information on training and workshops click here.

 
Q. Is there assistance available for plotting and scanning?

A. Yes. Some assistance is available. In some cases, fees may be associated with plotting and scanning services. Please contact us directly with questions regarding fees.

Q. How much does it cost to print a poster?

A. The price for printing posters is $1.80 multiplied by the running length of the paper. Posters with solid backgrounds and large solid frames will be printed at $2.16 due to the greater usage of ink.
