MIUS’ collection features a wide range of maps, atlases, and travel books, but is still growing. In order to better meet the material needs of our users we welcome material requests from FIU students, faculty, and staff. It is important to note that material requests should meet MIUS’s collection development goals to acquire:

1)      maps and imageries (in both printed and digital, e.g. topo sheets, LandSAT imagery) for the environmentally sensitive regions of the developing world (e.g Africa, India, Latin American and Caribbean), supporting teaching and research in the areas of global warming, water resources management, and other environmental issues

2)      maps and geo-spatial datasets for South Florida region, with a focus on most current materials

3)      map sets of special interests that relate directly to curriculum

4)      Small scale (world and regional maps) general purpose maps and atlases

To make a request, submit the request form below, making sure to include as much information as possible. The request will be reviewed by MIUS staff who will contact you directly to let you know the status of your order.
