What is ESRI Virtual Campus?

Since 1998, ESRI Virtual Campus has offered self-paced training over the Internet. FIU now has access to this wonderful resource, at no cost to our users. The web courses cover a wide range of topics related to ESRI software, the application of GIS, and the theory behind GIS technology. Courses take between 3-20 hours to complete, and registered users have up to one year to complete them.

Who may register for Virtual Campus Courses?

Current FIU students, faculty, and staff with a valid panther i.d. can register for Virtual Campus courses. Non FIU members must register through ESRI’s Training and Education.

What courses are available?

There are about 100 courses and workshops available. All courses can be found in the ESRI online course catalog.

How many courses can I take?

As many as you want! There is no limit to the number of course an individual can sign up for over time.

What software do I need?

Consult the Required Software sections of the individual course web pages. Some web courses include downloadable trial editions of ESRI software.

Software is also available in our GIS Lab in GL 274 and in MIUS in GL273. Please note: GIS usernames and passwords are required in order to access these computers.

How do I sign up?

Please register by e-mailing us at juhrovic@fiu.edu. You must e-mail us from your fiu e-mail account and include your panther i.d., name, and the title of the course you are interested in taking.

 How do I get started?
